Haverford School Headmaster Reinstated, Pay What You Can Cafe, Bill Passed Regarding Toll Violators

The Haverford School's headmaster, Dr. John Nagl, will now be getting his job back starting this Friday. Nagl was put on leave two weeks ago after he was arrested and charged with simple assault during an altercation with his son over marijuana. Delaware County's District Attorney has gotten rid of Nagl's simple assault charge, stating there was not enough evidence. Dr. Nagl released a statement stating that he vows to "personally reflect on how I can grow as a father and a leader."

Drexel University and celebrity chef Mark Vetri have now teamed up to help fight hunger in Philly. The University and the chef are making the Eat CafÃ©, where customers will pay what they can for a hot meal. The doors opened on Wednesday Morning at 38th Street and Lancaster Ave. The cafÃ© comes about after experts say Philadelphia has the highest rate of deep poverty in the country, and that one in four families suffer from food insecurity. The CafÃ© will be open Wednesday to Saturday from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

A bill was passed by the House on Wednesday that would allow the Pennsylvania Turnpike commission to utilize more tools that will help them go after repeat toll violators. The bill would allow PennDOT to suspend the registrations of drivers who continually abuse the electronic toll systems and don't pay their tolls. It would also allow the Turnpike Commission to work with other tolling agencies to go after out-of-state offenders. The Turnpike Commision released data stating that the top 24 commercial driving companies owe more than $1.5 Million combined in unpaid tolls and fees. The top violator on the list is a South Jersey garbage company, Green Coast Logistics of South Plainfield, who has 7,631 outstanding violations and owes the state $678,483.91 just by itself.
