A Temple University lacrosse player who was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident while riding her bike on campus last year just days before graduation will be able to walk at this year's ceremony and receive her diploma. Rachel Hall of Mullica Hill, NJ, was struck at the intersection of Park Ave. and Diamond Street around 7:30 p.m. on April 29th, 2015. Republican Gov. Chris Christie's Democratic nominee for the New Jersey Supreme Court is expected to get a final vote today in the state Senate. Walter Timpone, a criminal defense attorney and former federal prosecutor, is scheduled to get a vote Monday in the Democrat-led Senate. An altercation between to men at Keystone Fellowship Church turned deadly, after one of the men involved pulled out a gun and opened fire. The altercation happened around 11:30 Sunday morning, in the church. The two men got into an altercation and one of the men shot and killed the other. The victim was 27-year-old Robert Braxton of Montgomeryville. Braxton was taken to Abington-Lansdale Hospital after being shot in the chest. A New Jersey mother has plead guilty to setting her newborn baby on fire and leaving it in the middle of the street. 23-year-old Hyphernkemberly Dorvilier of Pemberton Township doused her newborn daughter with accelerant and lit her on fire in January 2015. The baby died a few hours later after being flown to a Philadelphia hospital. Dorvilier plead guilty to aggravated manslaughter. Authorities say that she hid her pregnancy from her mother and sister. The Philadelphia Folksong Society has released the initial lineup for this year's 55th Annual Philadelphia Folk Festival. As always, the fest will be held on the Old Pool Farm, in Upper Salford Township near Schwenksville, PA, on August 18-21. Notable acts include Los Lobos, The Lone Bellow, Darlingside, Buckwheat Zydeco, Buffy Sainte-Marie. Tickets are on sale now at pfs.org.

Philadelphia Police are looking to identify and locate a man they say attempted to rape a young woman in South Philadelphia earlier the week. The incident occurred this past Wednesday on the 1300 block of Wharton Street around 1:30 a.m. Police say a 19-year-old woman was walking down the street when she was approached by a man who grabbed her and forced her to the ground.
