The U.S. Senate has voted to confirm President Trump's nominee, Judge Neil Gorsuch, to the Supreme Court. Senate Republicans had changed the rules and lowered the threshold to approve the nomination to a simple majority, down from 60 votes, to avoid a filibuster from the Democrats. He was confirmed 54-45. The so called 'nuclear option' was previously used by Democrats during hearings for President Obama's cabinet nominees. City Officials are warning Conrail that it is time to improve their location in North Philadelphia. The city has issued citations to Conrail after they have failed to clean up their tracks in West Kensington and Fairhill. Mayor Kenney has stated that the rails are considered "hazardous conditions." Philadelphia Police arrested a man yesterday evening after getting reports of someone driving around North Philadelphia pointing a rifle out the window. Officers found and pulled over the silver van on North 16th Street near Ontario just after 5 p.m. Tuesday. 20-year-old Kyree Saunders was driving the van wearing a black hoodie and black bandana over his face. The former Amish couple who 'gifted' their 9 daughters to a Feasterville man have entered pleas in their case. The mother, Savilla Stoltzfus, pled guilty to child endangerment. The father, Daniel Stoltzfus, pled no contest to child endangerment. A charge of conspiracy to commit statutory rape was withdrawn. Delaware Police are now investigating after two victims were shot and wounded in Wilmington. The shooting took place on the 2900 block of Bowers Street at around 7:30 pm. Police responded to a call of shots fired at the location. When they arrived on the scene they found two males lying on the street with gun shot wounds. Philadelphia Police are now searching for three suspects who are wanted in connection with a home invasion that took place in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia. The incident took place on 100 block of West Wildey Street at around 3:15 pm Tuesday. Police stated that the three suspects tied up the residents of the home and robbed the place. The Bensalem Township Police Department is asking the public's help in identifying an elderly woman suffering from dementia. The unidentified woman boarded the Rt. 14 SEPTA bus at the Frankford Terminal in Philadelphia around 5:20 a.m. Tuesday.
