Late Madonna Booed In Philadelphia, Hatboro Officer Used Badge For Drugs, Delaware Park Thief Busted

Madonna took the stage nearly three hours late in Philadelphia Tuesday evening. Some concert goers were so frustrated that they left the Wells Fargo Center before the show even began. The concert was scheduled to start at 8 p.m., but Madonna did not take the stage until about 10:30 p.m. Making matters worse for fans was the fact that there was no opening act, simply a DJ spinning some tunes. When Madonna finally did take the stage, she apparently apologized to the crowd. However, in typical Philadelphia fashion, Madonna was booed, not once, but twice.

A former Hatboro police officer has admitted in Montgomery County Court that he used his badge and his position of authority to get drugs to fuel his addiction. John Becker pleaded guilty this morning to possessing and stealing drugs, guns, and cash from the department’s evidence locker between late 2009 and early 2011. Authorities say he also coerced drug informants to purchase drugs for him on the street.

A Delaware man was arrested after police say he stole $8,500 in gaming chips from Delaware Park. Kevin M. Davis is facing charges for his alleged role in the incident that occurred in the casino at Delaware Park on August 23rd. According to investigators, the 21-year-old Davis is accused of reaching over a plexiglass barrier at a roulette table, grabbing (17) $500 gaming chips totaling $8,500, and fleeing the casino through an emergency door. After an investigation, Davis was identified as a suspect. A search warrant was executed at his home Monday, which resulted in the recovery of the gaming chips. Davis was arraigned and released on $1,500 secured bond pending a preliminary hearing.
