Ocean City Stays Dry, Philadelphia Sibling Stabbing, Bristol Homeless Camp Moves On

Voters in Ocean City New Jersey have decided to keep the town dry, rejecting a proposal that would have let restaurant patrons bring their own wine or beer to enjoy with dinner. The issue is one that has challenged Ocean City for decades. It lost Tuesday by a 2-to-1 ratio. A man was stabbed by a family member in Philadelphia Tuesday night, once in the neck and once under both armpits by his 52-year-old brother inside a residence on North Preston Street.

The victim is stable and is undergoing surgery. His brother, also with an injury from the scuffle, is also in stable condition. The remaining residents of a suburban Philadelphia homeless camp have moved out on the order of authorities to make way for a new warehouse.

The last residents of the enclave near a hospital in Bristol, Bucks County, had been ordered to leave Tuesday. The camp of tents and other structures had existed for at least 20 years but a 253,000-square-foot warehouse was approved in 2005.
