Yasine Harvey Shooting, Mayfair-Blvd Accident, Chaput To Announce Investigation Outcome

Yasine Harvey was shot at close range while leaving a corner store in West Philadelphia Wednesday night. He had just bought some food for a friend's sick aunt when a dark colored car with tinted windows drove by and someone inside opened fire. He died from his injuries Thursday morning. Police believe the target was one of the friends in the group he was with.

Police are investigating an auto-pedestrian accident in the city’s Mayfair neighborhood. The unidentified woman was crossing Roosevelt Boulevard, when a vehicle traveling northbound on the boulevard struck her. The victim suffered head trauma, a broken neck and a collapsed lung and was rushed to Aria Health Torresdale Campus in critical condition. There is no word at this time if the driver will be charged.

Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput has many constituents to consider as he decides the fate of about two dozen priests suspended over child sex-abuse allegations. Chaput may announce the outcome of at least some of the investigations today. The Archbishop first discussed the matter with hundreds of Philadelphia priests summoned to a last-minute meeting Wednesday.
