A man has been charged with 2 murders in connection to a mass shooting at a house party in South Jersey in May. 21-year-old Zedekiah Holmes is charged with the murders of 30-year-old Kevin Elliott and 25-year-old Asia Hester. He is also charged with four counts of attempted murder. It happened around 11:50 p.m. Saturday, 5/22, on the 1000 block of East Commerce Street in Fairfield Township, near Bridgeton. There were over 100 people attending a birthday party at the home when the shooting broke out. Fourteen people were injured and three were killed. 19-year-old Braylin Holmes, Zedekiah's sister, was the third person killed. No one has been charged with her murder yet. Three others were previously charged in connection to the shooting. Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae says that ballistic evidence from the May shooting matches an April shooting also involving Homes. He is currently incarcerated for that April shooting.

The following individuals have been charged with hindering apprehension: 28-year-old Arthur Armstead of Millville, 46-year-old Priscilla Armstead of Bridgeton, 27-year-old Tasia Coleman of Bridgeton, 28-year-old Tazshaina Sadler of Bridgeton, and 31-year-old Aladrienne Milbourne of Millville. The individuals helped Arthur Armstead hide from police and transferred him between Fairfield Township, Delaware, and Atlantic City. He turned himself in, but had plans to leave for Atlanta. Authorities have not revealed his involvement in the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.

A group of 8 minors have been charged in connection to an act of vandalism and arson at a baseball field in Gloucester Township, NJ, on July 29. It happened after 2 a.m. at the Valleybrook Sports Turf Field in Blackwood. It is known as the 'Field of Dreams' and is used by children of all abilities. Surveillance video shows the juveniles, five boys and three girls, walking on the field. One of the boys lit a 55-gallon plastic trash can on fire near third base. They fled when it got out of control. It left a large burn mark and hole on the field. The boy is charged with third-degree arson and criminal trespass. The seven others are charged with criminal trespass.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized an additional coronavirus COVID-19 vaccine dose for immunocompromised individuals. The FDA modified the emergency use authorization for both the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines to allow for certain people with compromised immune systems to receive an extra dose. Those people include "specifically, solid organ transplant recipients or those who are diagnosed with conditions that are considered to have an equivalent level of immunocompromise." CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky says that "this is a very small population. We estimate it to be less than 3% of adults." This does not mean that booster shots are authorized for the general population.
