A New Jersey man admitted in court that he faked his own disappearance to avoid being prosecuted on bank fraud charges. 51-year-old Andrew Biddle of Egg Harbor Township pled guilty on Wednesday, 6/16, to the bank fraud charges and to causing the Coast Guard to render unnecessary aid. He faces up to 36 years when he is sentenced on October 18.

The bank fraud charge was filed in 2014 when he lied to secure a $55,000 load from a credit union. Biddle and another man conspired to fake his disappearance. On July 20, 2014, they got on a pontoon boat and drove across Great Egg Harbor Inlet. Biddle got off the boat between two piers and was pickup up by someone else. The other man continued to drive the boat and purposefully crashed it into a bouy and then the jetty. He made it to shore and told authorities that Biddle got thrown off the boat. The Coast Guard extensively searched for a non-existent victim. Authorities started to become suspicious of the story when they learned of Biddle's bank fraud case and the fact that he was a professional boat racer who wouldn't just hit a bouy. He had been hiding in Florida before surrendering to Atlantic County authorities in February 2015.

A man was shot and killed Thursday evening, 6/16, by a person riding a dirt bike. It happened 6:30 p.m. near 52nd Street and Girard Avenue in West Philadelphia. The 37-year-old victim was shot twice in the head and once in the chest. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The man was driving in his vehicle and was being followed by several people riding dirt bikes. He pulled over to let a passenger out. That's when one ride pulled up next to the driver's window and fired six shots. The motive is not yet known.

A woman has been charged with arson for a 4-alarm fire at a Camden County hotel back in March. 27-year-old Dannielle Monroe is charged with third-degree arson and criminal mischief. It happened in the early morning hours at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Blackwood, NJ. No one was hurt. Through interviews and other investigation officials determined that Monroe was the last to leave the room where the fire started.
