NJ Boardwalks Best Food Ranks, Longport Body Search Suspended, PA Turnpike Speed Limit Increases

Several New Jersey shore towns have the best boardwalks for food in the United States, according to a food and drink website. Eight boardwalks in New Jersey ranked on The Daily Meal’s "31 Best Boardwalks for Food in America" list, including three located in South Jersey. Wildwood was ranked third, with Atlantic City earning the fourth spot. Ocean City was listed at No. 15. To see the full list, click www.thedailymeal.com/31-best-boardwalks-food-america

The Coast Guard suspended its search Monday for a boater who went missing late Sunday night in Longport, NJ. The U.S. Coast Guard says they got the call at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday for a 20-foot-long Pontoon Boat that hit a buoy and ran into the jetty at the end of Longport — near 11th Avenue, across the water from Ocean City. The Coast Guard says two men were on board the boat. One of the men made it safely to shore, while the other, who has been identified as 44-year-old Andrew Biddle, went missing in the surf.

Highway officials announced that they’re picking up the pace on a 100 mile stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Starting Wednesday between the Blue Mountain and Morgantown Interchanges, motorists will now be able to go 70 miles per hour. Right now the speed limit is 65 Mph, but turnpike officials say their studies show at least this particular section of the highway can accommodate faster traffic with the hopes of improving congestion. The Turnpike Commission says on Wednesday they will announce other sections where the speed limit will also be increased.

Weather, July 22

Mostly Sunny. High 90 in Center City.
