Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro was in Philadelphia on Sunday, 3/7, to announce charges against several men for buying, building, and selling 'ghost guns.' These guns are assembled from separate parts and do not contain a serial number, making them untraceable. They start with a base called an '80% receiver' which by law does not require a background check to purchase. The rest of the parts can be acquired in a kit. "Ghost guns are fueling the gun violence epidemic that takes the lives of Pennsylvanians every single day. Once these DIY homemade gun kits are in the wrong hands, in mere hours they become untraceable, fully operational firearms causing so much senseless violence," said Shapiro. "There's no good use for a plastic gun no a serial number," Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said. "It's for terrorists and it's for crime." These arrests are the result of two investigations at the Morgantown Gun Show last month. Investigators seized 5 ghost guns, 4 kits, 1 receiver, a Smith and Wesson, plus over 1,000 rounds of ammunition.

Najaye Davis is being charged with six counts of illegal transfer of a firearm, one count of dealing in unlawful proceeds, one count of corrupt organizations and one count of conspiracy.

Malachi Matthews is being charged with three counts each of violation of the uniform firearms act.

Montague Coker is being charged with three counts each of violation of the uniform firearms act.

Kenneth Manni is being charged with possession of a controlled substance, suspected to be fentanyl, and other violations of the uniform firearms act.

A second person has died following a shooting outside of a Walmart in Lehigh County last month. 22-year-old Jonathan Martinez of Allentown died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, 3/7, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. An autopsy will be performed to determine cause of death, but the coroner has already ruled the manner has a homicide. 20-year-old Nicolette Law of Allentown died on February 26 following the shooting. It happened outside the Whitehall Township store. 23-year-old Edward Joel Rosario-Jimenez is charged with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide and aggravated assault as well as a firearms offense.

Three people were killed and another injured in a car crash in Lehigh County on Saturday night, 3/6. All four occupants have a connection to DeSales University. It happened around 8:30 p.m. on the 4400 block of Lanark Road in Upper Saucon Township. Police say the vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree. Two DeSales alumni and one current student died in the crash. A fourth student was injured and is in critical condition at the hospital. Autopsies will be performed to determine cause of death. The cause of the crash is under investigation. The identities of the victims have not been released. "On behalf of the entire DeSales University community, I share our deepest condolences and prayers for the family and friends of the lives we lost," said University President Father James Greenfield, O.S.F.S.
