Not Knockout Game, IBEW Investigation, Good Shepherd Vigil

Authorities now say that it was an argument, not the so called 'knockout game,' which triggered a fatal punch. The incident was caught on camera in the city's Lawncrest section. The punch sent 30-year-old Mardoqeo Sincal-Jochola stumbling to the ground. He died as a result of his injuries, shortly after. The incident happened Friday in the 700 block of Adams Avenue. Police are searching for the suspects.

Sources close to the IBEW investigation confirmed that a federal grand jury is scrutinizing how Local 98 financed political campaigns. Just last week, labor magnate John Dougherty penned in a letter that the IBEW was instrumental in the elections of three Pennsylvania supreme court justices, one of them Dougherty's own brother. Mayor Jim Kenney's campaign was also the benefactor of Local 98. Finance reports for what's known as the Local 98 Committee on Political Education funneled just under $50,000 to Kenney's campaign for tee-shirts, signs and ads.

A church torn apart by a massive fire brings a community together. For the last few years, Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in West Philadelphia housed five different congregations. Pastors from the churches organized a vigil on Tuesday evening for the church, which was gutted by a four-alarm fire earlier this week. During the vigil, a few dozen people from the church and the community prayed and sang hymns, just feet from the fire-ravaged church. It is still unknown if officials will rebuild the 104-year-old church, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
