Hockessin Multi Vehicle Accident, Lottery Ticket Burglars Caught, Widener's First Female President

New Castle County Police were on the scene of a traffic accident that took place on Monday night just after 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of McGovern Road and Lancaster Pike. Two cars were found with several people injured and two people trapped in one of the vehicles. Three individuals were transported to Christiana Hospital.

Stolen lottery tickets, worth $6, led to the arrest of two men caught on camera burglarizing a home in Upper Pittsgrove, Salem County. In the video, you can see the two men robbing a house. They fled the property when the owner of that house yelled at them remotely through a home surveillance system. The tickets were cashed in. Police traced those tickets to a store in Camden and then arrested Joshua Robinson, 32, of Deptford and 28-year-old Eric Gilch of Blackwood.

Celebrations begin Tuesday for this week’s inauguration of a new president at Widener University in Chester, Delaware County. Fifty-six-year-old Dr. Julie Wollman grew up in Philadelphia and is excited to be back in the area — now as the first female president of Widener University. Dr. Wollman’s inauguration as the Widener University’s 10th president is Friday afternoon.
