Visit Philadelphia has released its 2015 report, and the numbers are adding up to Philadelphia as a more popular destination. Center City hotel occupancy hit a record high in 2015 of 3.1 million room nights. Visit Philadelphia CEO Meryl Levitz says visitors are discovering the city offers a wide open experience beyond the hotel room for a day, or a week. Levitz says the level of interest in Philadelphia can also be seen in the one million social media fans who are sharing their experiences.

Business is booming at Yards Brewery. So much so that it has to move to a larger facility. It’s been only nine years since Yards moved into its 40,000 square foot plant along Delaware Avenue in Northern Liberties. But President Tom Kehoe says they’ve already outgrown the place. Kehoe says city and state commerce officials have committed to helping Yards find a new home before their current lease expires in about two years.

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders tangled repeatedly in Sunday night’s presidential debate over who’s tougher on gun control and Wall Street and how to steer the future of health care in America. It was the last Democratic matchup before voting begins in two weeks, and both sides were eager to rumble as polls showed the race tightening in the leadoff states of Iowa and New Hampshire. The third participant in the debate, former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, tried persistently to insert himself into the conversation. He focused on his record as Maryland’s governor and accused both Clinton and Sanders of being inconsistent on gun control.
