Sansom St $350K Diamonds Stolen, Home Plate Sport Bar Shooting, Camden EMS Sevices Lawsuit

Police are looking for two men they say took a bag filled with diamonds from a man walking in Center City. It happened at 6:00 in the evening on the 1100 block of Sansom Street. Authorities say the 44-year-old victim was carrying a shoulder bag containing nearly $350,000 worth of loose diamonds. Police say the first suspect is about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a beard, wearing a black hat and a brown jacket. There’s no description of the second suspect, except that he was wearing a red jacket.

Three people were shot and wounded outside of a bar in North Philadelphia. It happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday outside of Home Plate Sport Bar at 27th Street and Lehigh Avenue in the Strawberry Mansion section of the city. Police say two men and a woman were taken to Temple Hospital with gunshot wounds to their legs.
All three victims were listed in stable condition.

A Superior Court judge in Trenton has sided with Virtua Health Systems in a battle over EMS services within the city of Camden. Virtua sued the state of New Jersey after a law was passed that, in effect, gave the rival Cooper Health System control over ambulance services in Camden. Judge Douglas Hurd determined that the law was unconstitutional and stopped it from taking effect as scheduled early next month. That means the current system of both hospitals providing EMS services in Camden remains in effect.
