West Philadelphia Shooting, Trump Media Focus, Hunger Games Sequel Tops Box Office Again

One teen is dead and another was seriously wounded in a shooting in West Philadelphia.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Creighton Street, near Wyaluising Avenue. Officers responded to numerous calls and arrived at the scene where they found a 17-year-old boy in street, shot multiple times in the head and body. A second victim, another 17-year-old boy, was shot once in the thigh, but was able to run from the scene in search of help. There were no initial arrests or word of a motive.

The media seems to be fixated on GOP hopeful Donald Trump. According to the Tyndall Report, he’s received more news coverage than all of the other candidates. Chris Harper, a journalism professor at Temple University says love him or hate him, Trump cannot be ignored. And those media organizations that have tried, have failed. Harper says the media must analyze Trump comments and provide accurate facts so the public can make up their own minds.

The hit sci-fi sequel, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, made it four weekends in a row on top by earning just over $11-million for yet another, first-place finish. Just behind, in second place by a mere few thousand dollars, was the weekend’s only new mainstream release, director Ron Howard’s seafaring drama, In the Heart of the Sea. It took in $11-million.
In third place was the holdover animated adventure , The Good Dinosaur, with a total of just over $10-million. Fourth place went to the Rocky sequel, Creed, with $10-million. And rounding out the top five was the holdover horror thriller, Krampus, with $8-million.
