Eagles In First Place, Fishtown Murder Solved, Ocean City Whale Sightings

With a wild finish capping an otherwise dull game filled with turnovers, punts and penalties, the Dallas Cowboys beat the Washington Redskins 19-16 on Dan Bailey's 54-yard field goal with 9 seconds left Monday night. Last-place Dallas is 4-8, one game behind the Redskins, Giants and Eagles, who are all 5-7…tied for first place in the NFC East.

Neighbors in Fishtown are in shock after a woman known as a fixture in the community was murdered in her own home…and police say a couple has confessed to the crime. The victim, identified as 54-year-old Kathy Wilson, was found badly beaten inside her home located on the 1300 block of Earl Street Monday morning at around 9:30. 50-year-old James Cheever and 47-year-old Jane Johnson have been charged with murder, robbery and other related offenses. Authorities say the victim employed both suspects; Johnson to clean her home and Cheever to perform odd jobs. Police say the motive for the crime was robbery, as $20,000 was taken from the victim.

People walking the boards out on the water were surprised to find some unexpected visitors who didn’t mind putting on a show. Off the coast of Ocean City, one fisherman got quite the bump… from a humpback whale long enough to reach his boat. The whale was captured on video by a fisherman breaching just a short distance from the beach. They’re feeding and preparing for the winter, following the bait into shallow water. Oceans have been so calm over last couple of days, whales could been seen breaching about a mile from the shore. Marine experts say it’s just a matter of time before they continue on south for the winter.
