Papal Cell Signal Upgrades, Anti-Death Penalty, Philadelphia Choir Performs for Pope

For people planning to text, Tweet, and Facebook up a storm during the Pope's visit, the big wireless companies say they've done all they can to try to ensure a strong signal. Whether that will translate to 'bars' on your smartphone remains to be seen. The nearly $50 million combined investment from Verizon and AT&T will mean better service for those after the crowds have gone. Users should notice the increase in speeds and the reliability .

Officials with an anti-death penalty organization are hoping Pope Francis will use part of his time in Philadelphia to speak out against capital punishment. The US is one of the world’s leaders in executions, ranking behind China, Iran and Iraq. Witness to Innocence executive director Leno Rose-Avila says it gives America a black eye. He hopes Pope Francis reiterates his position against capital punishment.

The Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale will be center stage next weekend to sing for the Pope.
The 75 boys and 35 men will entertain the faithful shortly before the Papal mass on the Parkway Sunday, September 27th. Musical Director, Jeffrey Smith says they’ll be singing 3 different songs. This won’t be the first time the boys in red jackets have sung for a Pope. They sang at the Vatican in 1984.

iRadioPhilly will carry LIVE BROADCASTS from the World Meeting of Families Events, Festival and the Papal Visit. For more information, go to Papal Visit Broadcast
