Music News - Kim Gordon/J Mascis Release Track; Disclosure New Album; Garbage To Play Album On Tour

Former Sonic Youth bassist/vocalist Kim Gordon and Dinosaur Jr.'s J Mascis have teamed up to put out a new track titled "Slow Boy" for the third Converse compilation, CONS EP Vol. 3. The pair go way back as label mates on SST Records in the 80's as well as on joint tours over the years and other collaborations. Gordon takes lead vocals on this feedback washed track with Mascis adding the searing guitar riffs. This is pure late 80's underground post-punk just 20 years later. You can download the track for free at Converse. The rest of the EP will be released throughout June.

UK house duo Disclosure have already released two tracks off their forthcoming sophomore album. Those tracks (see below) are "Bang That" and "Holding On." Now they made the album official. The follow-up to 2013's Settle will be called Caracal (think big cat) and will be available on September 25th. They made the announcement at their own Wild Life Festival in the UK over the weekend.

This year alt-rock band Garbage celebrates their 20th anniversary. They've just announced the tour dates for the "20 Years of Queer" Tour beginning October 6th in San Diego. Unfortunately they will not be playing in Philadelphia, but will make stops in Brooklyn and Washington, DC. They have also announced that they will be performing their eponymous debut album in it's entirety front-to-back each night. 1995's Garbage eventually went double platinum in the US selling over 2 million copies. It contains hit songs "Queer," "Stupid Girl," and "I'm Only Happy When It Rains." Tickets to the tour go on sale on Friday, June 12th.
