Music News - Meek Mill Releases 'Check'; Screaming Females 'Shake It Off'; Fillmore Philly Lineups

Philadelphia's own Meek Mill has released another track off his upcoming new album Dreams Worth More Than Money. It's called "Check" and was posted to YouTube on Monday with the simple declaration of #MeekSeason. The track was produced by Metro Boomin. This is the third single released off the new album following "B Boy" and "Monster". The album still doesn't have a release date but is expected sometime this summer. The release of "Check" follows what appeared to be a very public breakup between the rapper and girlfriend Nicki Minaj on Sunday over social media. Listen to the new song:

New Jersey indie punk band Screaming Females stopped by the AV Club for their Undercover Series. They chose Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" to cover and perform on video. Frontwoman Marissa Paternoster is certainly not as bubbly as Miss Swift and perhaps her brooding demeanor brings a little authenticity to the lyrics of an affected person brushing away criticism. This is not a Toni Basil rendition of the song. Check out the video:

Philly's soon-to-be Fillmore Philadelphia, coming to Fishtown this fall, has announced the lineup for the first few shows. Opening Night will be on October 1st, 2015 and feature Philadelphia legends Hall & Oates. Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, Flux Pavilion, Brandi Carlisle, AER, Misterwives, Eli Young Band, Papadosio, and Joe Russo's Almost Dead have also been booked in the first few months. More acts will be added. The Fillmore will be located on Frankford Ave. It features two stages, VIP lounge, full bar and food menus.
