SEPTA says service to the North Philadelphia station on the Trenton Regional Rail line is back up and running after being suspended following last week's fatal Amtrak train derailment. Service on the Trenton Rail Line resumed yesterday for the first time since last Tuesday night. For current updates on all routes, head to the system status page on SEPTA’s website.

In addition to candidates for mayor, Philadelphia voters today are also choosing their party’s nominees for all 17 seats on City Council. The key races include the battle for the five Democratic nominations for Council “at-large” seats, with 16 candidates, including four incumbents. Seven Republicans are seeking the five GOP nominations for at-large seats.
Only two incumbent district councilmembers face primary battles. In the 2nd District, covering much of South and Southwest Philadelphia, there’s a hard-fought battle between incumbent Kenyatta Johnson and challenger Ori Feibush. In the 7th District, covering a portion of North Philadelphia, incumbent Maria Quiñones-Sánchez faces challenger Manny Morales. In the 9th District, covering portions of North and Northwest Philadelphia, incumbent Democrat Marian Tasco is retiring. State representative Cherelle Parker is unopposed for the Democratic nomination for that seat. She will face GOP nominee Kevin Strickland in November.

Neighbors in the Pinewood section of Levittown, Bucks County woke up early Sunday morning to tires slashed. Some had multiple vehicles hit and by noon, neighbors had reported 17 cars in total and 28 tires on several different blocks. Police were able to find some surveillance video on one of the homes nearby and they say on it they found a person of interest who is known to them. Police are looking for a man in his 30’s and they say if they catch him he could be facing a slew of charges, thousands in restitution and jail time.
