The train derailment in Philadelphia's Port Richmond neighborhood is impacting travel for the Wednesday morning commute. On Wednesday, Amtrak says modified Amtrak service will be provided between Washington and Philadelphia, Harrisburg and Philadelphia, and New York and Boston. There will be no Amtrak service between New York and Philadelphia, but New Jersey Transit will honor Amtrak tickets between New York City and Trenton.

UPDATE 2:39pm 4/13: 7 confirmed dead, 11 critically injured, over 200 wounded. Over a dozen people unaccounted for at this time. NTSB confirms the train was going over 100 mph, speed limit on the curve is 50 mph, 70 mph before curve.

Former Congressman Patrick Murphy was on the Amtrak train that crashed in Philadelphia leaving at least five people dead and dozens injured. The Bucks County, Pa. native was reportedly in the train’s Café car when it flipped on its side at about 9:30 p.m. near the 2000 block of Wheatsheaf Lane. Hundreds of emergency personnel responded to the scene helping rescue the 243 on board the derailed train. At least five people were killed and 65 injured. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
