Tim Tebow is in town now and is expected to sign a one year deal with the Eagles Monday afternoon. The last time Tebow played football in the NFL was in a 2013 preseason game with the New England Patriots. Tebow was a first round draft pick in 2010, and last played a regular season game in 2012 with the New York Jets. Tebow won the Heisman trophy in 2007.

Negotiations have begun in what’s expected to be the long and difficult process of crafting a new state budget that a Democratic governor and a Republican-controlled legislature can agree on. The first budget talks were held last week, but a significant aspect of the discussions is the governor’s insistence that his plan, which includes raising sales and income taxes and reducing property taxes, be considered as a whole. The governor’s spokesman said last week that while Wolf remained committed to the priorities in his budget proposal, he was not asking for an up or down vote at this time and that he looks forward to negotiations.

The FDA has approved a heart valve replacement procedure that will save many older patients from and suffering through a second, major surgical procedure. Aortic valves made of animal tissue don’t last forever and when they need to be replaced, open heart surgery has been required. Now the FDA has approved a valve in valve reeplacement procedure according to Dr. Howard Cohen Director of Interventional Cardiology at Temple Univeristy Hospital. And with the government approval, Medicare will pay for the procedure which is less risky and better tolerated for patients deemed high risk for the traditional open heart surgery.
