Snow Emergency Lifted In Philadelphia and New Jersey

At 6am on Tuesday, the Snow Emergency in Philadelphia was lifted. Normal parking can resume on Snow Emergency Routes. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced on Twitter that the travel ban for south of Interstate 195 in that state was lifted as of 7am. Effective at 7:30am, the travel ban was lifted for all 21 counties in New Jersey. All Philadelphia Public and Archdiocesan schools are closed on Tuesday.
SEPTA: Many of the preemptive bus detours are being lifted. There had been about 50 bus routes affected — these routes that tend to be historically affected by heavy snow. Currently, only 9 bus routes are still on detour. Regional Rail trains are operating on a weekend schedule. The Cynwyd Line is not operating. The Norristown High Speed Line is running on a normal weekday schedule. New Jersey Transit: NJT had suspended its service systemwide Tuesday. Some services slowly resumed operations throughout the morning.
The South Jersey Bus is operating with modified service, and the North Jersey Bus will be operating by 11am. NJ Transit, through Governor Christie’s office, reports that the Newark and River Line light rails have resumed operating. The Hudson Bergen light rail will resume by 11am.
NJ Transit’s rail operations will resume will limited service by Tuesday afternoon. NJ Transit reports that line by line announcements will be made as mandatory federal inspections are completed. PATCO is running on a snow schedule. That snow schedule can be found here. Airlines operating at Philadelphia International Airport have canceled most flights on Tuesday, the airport reports. Travelers who plan to fly today should check their flight status with their airline, by calling 1.800.PHL.GATE (1.800.745.4283), or by checking the website.
