CB West Football Cancelled, Nutter Rappels For Outward Bound Programs, Malvern Prep Lockdown

The remainder of the football season at Central Bucks West High School, in Bucks County, was canceled today. All members of the varsity and JV coaching staffs have been suspended pending further investigation. Superintendent David Weitzel says an ongoing investigation into hazing allegations shows improper conduct by members of the football team, and failure of the coaching staff to properly supervise activities. Published reports indicate that new team members were forced to grab the private parts of other new players.

Thursday, Mayor Nutter took the elevator to the 31st floor of the One Logan Square building, 418 feet up, and then went up on the roof. Then, he got hooked up for a high adrenaline rappel down the facade of the building. He joined more than 130 others who did likewise, stepping off the roof and out of their comfort zone, to support scholarships for Philadelphia Outward Bound School programs. It was Outward Bound’s signature fundraiser.

Two men are being charged with firearms-related offenses after setting off a lockdown at a school in Chester County Thursday morning. 22-year-old Jibri Marquese Richardson of Ardmore, Pa. and 59-year-old Michael O’Brien of Glen Mills, Pa. are being charged after they were spotted headed into a wooded area behind Malvern Preperatory High School carrying a rifle. The two men had set up a target in the woods, and were firing a 22-caliber rifle. They were apprehended as they were leaving the school’s property.
