Claymont Minivan House Crash, Love Park Rally, Mo'ne Davis Enters National Baseball Hall Of Fame

At least one person was injured after a minivan crashed into a house in New Castle County, Delaware Thursday night. It happened just after 5pm at the 700 block of Darley Road in Claymont. Witnesses saw the vehicle wobbling out of control and then careened off the road and into the house. The house was destroyed with bed and belongings were strewn about. The driver of the minivan walked away. He was picked up by medics a few blocks away with head injuries. He has been identified as 34-year-old Jason T. Roane, of Claymont. He has been cited with multiple traffic offenses including Driving under the Influence of Drugs and Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash.

Hundreds gathered Thursday in Love Park (JFK Plaza) for a rally to support the gay couple brutally attacked in center city two weeks ago. In the meantime, a growing coalition of state lawmakers, law enforcement officials, and other leaders are pressing for an amendment to Pennsylvania’s hate-crime law to protect the LGBT community. State senator Larry Farnese is leading the effort in the senate and says he’ll call for a special session on equality if the amendment is not passed this session.

Mo'ne Davis and the Taney Dragons’ incredible run in this year’s Little League World Series has earned the star pitcher a place in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Davis is the first female pitcher to win a game in the Little League World Series. Now the jersey she wore while pitching a complete game shutout hangs in Cooperstown, New York, the same place that plays tribute to other Philadelphia baseball icons like Steve Carlton, Joe Morgan and Mike Schmidt. Davis says to see her shutout jersey on display in the Hall of Fame is amazing.
