Philadephia Police have released a photo of a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting outside of a peace concert at the Dell Music Center last Wednesday night. The incident happened outside of the venue located at 33rd Street and Huntingdon Avenue in Fairmount Park in Strawberry Mansion. Police responded to a shooting around 8:30 p.m. 20 year-old Alexis Guevera was found in a parking lot shot in the stomach and thigh. She was taken to Temple Hospital where she died early Thursday morning. There is a $20,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case. If you have information about the identity or whereabouts of this suspect please contact the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334/35. (photo below)

Philadelphia Police have arrested a man in connection with the attack on a Park Ranger in Love Park that was caught on video by witnesses. Police arrested 19-year-old Curtis Tanner in Pottstown this morning. The incident began on Friday evening when a group of teenage skateboarders were told they were not allowed to skate in the park. The teens refused to leave. They began to taunt the ranger who stood back defensively. One of them, supposedly Tanner, wrestled him to the ground, spat on him, and stomped on his head. An eyewitness captured the events on video and posted it to YouTube. The two others stood by yelling taunts. They fled the scene shortly after. The park ranger is okay, recovering from the head injuries.

UPDATE: A 17-year-old, also from Pottstown, is in police custody.

Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill was denied early release from jail today after appearing in front of a judge. He is serving time for a variety of parole violations and has been locked up since last month. The judge ordered Meek Mill, aka Robert Williams, to take anger management classes and a parenting class. Mill had been on probation since a 2009 drug and gun conviction. Recent activity, including a failed drug test and appearing with a gun in a video, prompted the parole violation. Up until now he has been in protective custody, but will now join the general population. Mill could be released October 11 at the earliest.

Jury selection began today in the trial of a 21-year-old woman accused of kidnapping a 5-year-old girl from her Kindergarten class and then physically and sexually assaulting her before letting her go in the middle of the night. In January 2013, Christina Regusters allegedly took the girl from her classroom in West Philadelphiaby posing as her mother fully dressed in muslim attire. Regusters led the girl back to her home a few blocks away where she was brutally assaulted. The girl was either let go or able to escape because she was found early the next morning hiding in a chilly Upper Darby playground. Regusters has pled not guilty despite DNA evidence. She rejected a plea deal; a guilty plea in exchange for a sentence of 40 to 80 years. A grand jury indicted Regusters on kidnapping, rape, and conspiracy charges.
