Philadelphia Power Outages, Stone Harbor Sofa Sleeper Charged, 911 Fire Tapes Released
  by: Rebel - Havertown, PA
started: 07/08/14 11:46 pm | updated: 07/08/14 11:46 pm
Strong storms are moved across the region Tuesday night, leaving many customers without power. PECO reported a total of about 204,000 outages in the region. Delmarva reported about 21,000 outages, PSEG reported 17,700 and AC Electric had about 13,400 outages.

A homeowner in Stone Harbor, New Jersey woke up to find a woman sleeping on his couch Wednesday morning. After a brief interaction, police say the 34-year-old woman of Quakertown, Pa. left the residence. She was charged on a criminal summons, 4th Degree Crime, for unauthorized entry into a dwelling, after she arrived at the police station to retrieve her purse that was left behind.

Philadelphia Fire Officials have now released the 911 tapes of the first calls received alerting the fire department to the Southwest Philadelphia fire Saturday morning that killed four children. In one of the calls, an unidentified man tells dispatchers, “somebody’s couch is on fire, out on the porch, connected to a house though.” Fire dispatchers then sent a single engine company to the fire, classified as a rubbish fire, but two minutes later the assignment was upgraded to a full first alarm assignment bringing extra equipment.

The Philadelphia Fire Department has released a transcript of the first two calls it received in connection with the fatal fire on Gesner Street over the weekend.
