The investigation continues into the plane crash that killed Lewis Katz and six others over the weekend. National Transportation Safety Board officials are looking at black boxes they recovered. NTSB says the private jet reached a speed of 190 miles per hour and information from the flight data recorder showed that the aircraft did not lift off the runway. NTSB also says the pilot may have been trying to stop the plane.

The Department of Defense announced Tuesday the death of a Pennsylvania soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. Capt. Jason B. Jones, 29, of Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County, died Monday in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, of wounds received from small-arms. He was assigned 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The incident is under investigation.

Kids can bowl two free games a day all summer long at participating bowling centers across the region, according to KidsBowlFree.com. Participating bowling centers include locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, according to the site. The Kids Bowl Free program is designed by bowling centers “to give back to the community and provide a safe, secure, and fun way for kids to spend time this summer.” The program runs through August 31st.
