Chipotle is asking customers not to bring firearms into its stores after it says gun rights advocates brought military-style assault rifles into one of its restaurants in Texas. The announcement came after a petition by Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, which has called on other companies to ban firearms in their stores as well. The group said its petition was in reaction to open-carry gun activists appearing at a Dallas-area Chipotle restaurant over the weekend.

In Campaign 2014, voters will head to the polls Tuesday in Pennsylvania. They’ll choose a Democratic candidate for governor to go up against Governor Tom Corbett in the Fall. Pounding the pavement in Philadelphia.
Katie McGinty, Allyson Schwartz, Rob McCord, Tom Wolf – united in their opposition to incumbent Republican Governor Tom Corbett – divided on who should take him on. The biggest difference amongst them is different tax rates on natural gas drilling which will lead to public school funding. McCord wants a 10 percent severance tax. McGinty wants a reasonable tax and Allyson Schwartz and Tom Wolf want a 5 percent tax.

Police in Easton are looking for a man who they say grabbed a jogger from behind and punched her. It happened on the Arts Trail last Tuesday afternoon. The man is described as a Hispanic male, in his late teens or early twenties, about 5’10″, about 180 to 190 pounds, with dark spike style hair, wearing a red shirt, black jeans, and carrying a black string style backpack.

Weather, May 20

Partly to mostly cloudy. High 77 in Center City.
