Horsham Carbon Monoxide, Brookhaven Playground Razor Blades, Jon Bon Jovi Opens Camden Shelter

A carbon monoxide incident at a strip mall in Horsham has sent four people to Abington Memorial Hospital. Five others refused medical treatment. The incident was reported around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the 300 block of Horsham Road. Construction workers were working in a vacant store with gas and propane at the time of the incident.

Police are investigating after razor blades were found duct taped to playground equipment at Eaton Park in Brookhaven. No children have been hurt. As a result, police have increased patrols of the area. Police are crediting the Boro Maintenance supervisor and crew for discovering this issue. An Illinois toddler suffered cuts last week in a similar incident.

Jon Bon Jovi returned to his home state Tuesday to open a homeless shelter in Camden. Mayor Dana Redd welcomed Jon Bon Jovi to the ribbon cutting at Joseph’s House, a 75-bed shelter that opened in January with the help of the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation. In addition to meals and cots, the shelter offers social services including addiction counseling and legal services. Renovations cost $1.2 million, but Bon Jovi says the work is far from over.

Weather, April 2

Clouds early…clearing later. High 67 in Center City.
