Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers now says tests have found evidence a number of chemicals leaked into a Roxborough firehouse forcing its temporary closing December 17 after a member of Engine Company 66 was sickened. The Commissioner says while the search continues, involving the EPA and other agencies, for the source of the leak, the station at Ridge Avenue and Shawmont Street could be closed for months. Engine Company 66 is now responding from Ladder 30′s station, 1.1 miles south on Ridge Avenue.

Delaware State Police say a man has been arrested for allegedly exposing himself inside a convenience store last month. Sixty year old, Garland J. Citizen, of Felton, has been charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree indecent exposure. The incident was on Dec. 9th at the Shore Stop on the 12000 block of South DuPont Highway in Felton. Police say a man, later identified as Citizen, purchased coffee and a paper, walked over to a table, sat down, then stood up exposing his genitals. Numerous tips led to the arrest of Citizen at his home on Tuesday. He was arraigned and later committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $2,000 secured bond.

The nation’s top college soccer prospects are in town for this week’s MLS SuperDraft. Six of them paid a visit to Christo Rey Philadelphia High School on North Broad Street Wednesday. The prospects kicked soccer balls with about two-dozen students and gave some helpful life lessons during a Q and A session. One of those prospects is likely to end up playing here in Philadelphia. The Union has two of the first six picks in today’s MLS SuperDraft.
