Daniel Preziosi Search Continues, Monday Busiest Mailing Day, Parkhouse Sale Opposed

Authorities are searching for a Pennsylvania man who escaped police custody after his court hearing on a robbery charge. Daniel Preziosi slipped out of his handcuffs and leg shackles and fled after attending a preliminary hearing in Nazareth on Monday. He allegedly jumped into a Toyota Camry. Police found the car outside a strip club. They say Preziosi’s girlfriend lives in the apartment above the bar but they have not been able to locate her.

Monday was the busiest mailing day of the year.
The United States Postal Service was to pick up over 34 million packages globally. For package delivery via the Postal Service now, it’s recommended customers pay extra to make sure delivery is made before Christmas. According to the Postal Service, as long as you send your Christmas cards out by Friday via regular mail they should be delivered in time.

Montgomery County Commissioners say they’re in finalizing plans to sell a large nursing care facility, while opponents are getting vocal on worries about privatizing care and how the company will use the land around the site. County officials want to sell the Parkhouse, a nursing home that houses some 500 residents, employs nearly 700 people and sits on about 200 acres of land. The deal is set at $39 million from the private Maryland company: $36 million for the facility and $3 million for the land. County Commissioner Josh Shapiro says a private company will only improve care, resolve debt and ease the burden on taxpayers. The finalized date is currently set for January 31st.
