Nelson Mandela, who battled apartheid in South Africa before becoming its first democratic leader, died at his home in South Africa yesterday after several months of ongoing health problems. President Obama has ordered all flags to half-staff. All flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on Dec. 9, 2013. Nelson Mandela was 95.

Friends and family of Timothy Loper Jr. packed a Camden court room Thursday for the arraignment of the former Marine’s accused killer Darrell Crone. Investigators say Crone is caught on surveillance video firing a hand gun outside the 20 Horse Tavern early Sunday morning. The medical examiner’s office determined that Loper Jr. died of a gunshot wound in the back. Crone received a bail order of $2 million full cash.
