Five people were injured after an accident involving a SEPTA bus and a car Tuesday night in Center City at 8th and Vine Streets. A Route 47 bus was traveling southbound on 8th Street when it collided with a car. Three people were taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and two were taken to Hahnemann University Hospital.

State police have called off the search, but volunteers continue looking for missing hunter Barnett “Barry” Zeldin who disappeared in the Warren Grove Recreation Area. 74 year old Zeldin, left his Mays Landing home on Monday, Oct. 7 and told his wife he was planning to put bait at a deer stand near Chatsworth. New Jersey State Police and State Park Police searched for the missing hunter through the weekend using helicopters and K-9s.

The number of safety violations at Pennsylvania nuclear power plants varies, according to a congressional study awaiting release. The Government Accountability Office shows that the Limerick plant near Philadelphia had four high-level and 110 low-level violations from 2000 to 2012, while the Beaver Valley plant north of Pittsburgh had three high-level and 113 low-level. Lower-level violations pose very low risk, such as improper upkeep of a transformer, while higher-level violations range in significance, such as an electrical system that caused a fire.
