The Reverend Al Sharpton promoted his new book at the Free Library of Philadelphia Thursday afternoon, saying it's about life lessons, with anecdotes. The book is called The Rejected Stone: Al Sharpton and the Path to American Leadership. Sharpton talks about a number of things in his book, including his ministry, his music business, and civil rights.

Two of the Philadelphia Inquirer's owners are suing its parent company, Interstate General Media, and its publisher, Bob Hall. When Bill Marimow, the former editor of the Philadelphia Inquirer, was let go rumors began circulating that he was shown the door because he would neither fire nor demote six senior editors. Now, a lawsuit has been filed by Gerry Lenfest, the chairman of the Inquirer’s parent company, and another owner, Lewis Katz.

Gilberton Police Chief Mark Kessler is facing a pink slip after posting online videos of himself shooting automatic weapons while screaming profanities about liberals and the Second Amendment. Kessler got a chance to argue for his job at a public hearing in Gilberton borough hall on Thursday, however, officials decided to adjourn the meeting after a gun was dropped on the floor. The weapon did not discharge.
