Authorities are searching the bay area near Atlantic City after a report of a missing jet skier Tuesday night. The U.S. Coast Guard says a call was received at about 9:30 p.m. for a missing jet skier near Venice Avenue in Egg Harbor Township. The New Jersey State Police Marine unit is searching the water with assistance from the U.S. Coast Guard helicopter.

UPDATE: The missing jetskier has been rescued after being stranded for nearly 5 hours. He was rescued by the NJSP Marine unit with assistance from the U.S. Coast Guard helicopter. He is listed in good condition.

A judge has ordered an eastern Pennsylvania woman to stand trial on charges she tried to poison her husband and daughter with burritos laced with prescription medicine. A judge on Tuesday ordered Ann Marie Haines of Lower Macungie Township to stand trial on charges of simple assault, reckless endangerment and related counts. Investigators say Haines was upset that she hadn’t been invited to join her husband and daughter as they went car shopping in May.

On the first day of classes at Temple University, the school stunned the student body by cancelling one of the most popular events. The university cancelled Spring Fling, an annual event in April that brought together students and student organizations for a mid-week celebration. But the university says the event is no longer about the campus community. It is about off campus drinking. This past April, a visiting college student died when she fell from an off-campus roof party during Spring Fling weekend.
