A former Philadelphia Congressman and Preacher loved and respected by many around the world has died. Bill Gray passed from natural causes at the age of 71. Gray was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for 23 years, serving from 1978 to 1991. In that time he became the first African American to achieve chairmanship of the House Budget Committee. Starting today, Mayor Nutter has ordered that all City flags at all City buildings and facilities will be at half-staff, in honor of U.S. Rep. Gray.

Trump Taj Mahal casino will partner with a Las Vegas company to provide Internet gambling when the practice begins in New Jersey this fall. Ultimate Gaming says it will provide a wide range of online casino games and poker using its proprietary technology. New Jersey’s Gaming Enforcement Division told Atlantic City casinos they had until June 30 to arrange Internet gambling deals. New Jersey is one of three states in the nation to legalize Internet gambling, along with Delaware and Nevada, which already has started taking bets online.

Two silver-haired women made Delaware history yesterday, becoming the first same-sex couple to legally wed under the state’s new gay marriage law. Democratic state Sen. Karen Peterson and her longtime partner, Vikki Bandy, both 63, exchanged vows in front of about 35 friends and supporters in a county clerk’s office, converting their civil union into a same-sex marriage.

Weather

Scattered thunderstorms. High 83 in Center City.
