Fishtown Alligator Found, Murnaghan Lung Transplant, Philadelphia Weather Turning Severe
  by: Rebel - Havertown, PA
started: 06/12/13 9:26 pm | updated: 06/12/13 9:26 pm
An 18-inch long alligator was found near a sewer grate in the Fishtown section of the city Monday. Philadelphia's Animal Care and Control Team says police brought the animal to them. The alligator was docile until a man tried to get a closer look. That's when the hissing began. The gator will remain with Animal Control until a permanent home is found.

The ten-year-old, critically ill Delaware County girl whose desperate search for a donor lung captured national attention is undergoing surgery today at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia after a donor lung became available. News that a lung had been found, and that gravely ill Sarah Murnaghan of Newtown Square, Pa. would be undergoing transplant surgery, was posted late this morning on the family’s Facebook page.

Be prepared for a significant rain/severe weather event Thursday across the region. Areas mainly from the city on southward must prepare for severe thunderstorms with flooding rain, damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes. Have a severe weather/tornado action plan ready in case severe weather strikes. An interior windowless room or basement is the safest place to be.
