An off duty New Jersey police officer accused of shooting and killing a man on Interstate-97 in Maryland has been arrested there. Authorities say 40-year-old Joseph Walker is from Eastampton, Burlington County and is an officer with the Hudson County Prosecutor’s office. Walker allegedly shot 36-year-old Joseph Harvey after a dispute while both were driving on the highway.

Local police say a man and a woman are dead after what appears to be a murder-suicide Sunday. It began in Prospect Park just before 4 p.m. Sunday, when police were dispatched to a reported shooting on Fletcher Avenue. A 31-year old woman was found with gunshot wounds to her chest and face. She was pronounced dead on the scene. A witness had police on the lookout for a man who left the scene in a van. The van was found by police in Southwest Philadelphia, and inside police found the man who was identified as the shooter, 38-year-old Anthony Serody, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Authorities say a 13-year-old girl was struck in the eye by a stray bullet in North Philadelphia Sunday. The girl was an innocent bystander standing in the way of gun shots fired at 23rd and West Norris Streets. The girl was taken to Temple Hospital and is in stable condition. The shooter reportedly fled the scene in a car, then ran away on foot after crashing nearby the site of the shooting. Police are investigating.
