Bishop McFadden Heart Attack, Pottsgrove Roadside Body Found, Ogletree Sentenced

Diocese of Harrisburg officials say Bishop Joseph McFadden died of a heart attack last week after suddenly falling ill while attending a meeting of the Catholic Bishops of Pennsylvania. McFadden died unexpectedly Thursday morning at a hospital near Philadelphia. Officials say McFadden awoke feeling ill and was taken to a hospital. He was 65 years old.

Police say a body was discovered Sunday afternoon on the side of a road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County. The body was found on the side of Sanatoga Station Road around 2:30 p.m., around the same time police were responding to a call about a home invasion on the 1200 block of Manatawny Road in West Pottsgrove. Police believe the two incidents are related. A reputed southern New Jersey street gang leader who admitted leading a narcotics network in Camden has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. Prosecutors say 29-year-old Kyle Ogletree of Camden was among 14 people arrested in 2011 after a joint investigation by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Ogletree must serve nearly 13 years of the sentence imposed Friday before he becomes eligible for parole. He had pleaded guilty in February to racketeering charges. Ogletree’s uncle, 35-year-old Philadelphia resident Sean Ogletree, was also sentenced Friday for his role in the network’s operations. He had pleaded guilty to a lesser racketeering count and was given a seven-year term. State authorities say most of the defendants accused of roles in the drug network have pleaded guilty.
