The Philadelphia 76ers have purchased an NBA Development League franchise that will play the upcoming 2013-14 season at University of Delaware's Bob Carpenter Center. The team will be named the Delaware 87ers and nicknamed the "Sevens." The name comes from the date that Delaware ratified the Constitution of the United States. It became the first state on December 7, 1787. The D-League is the NBA's only minor league. The 87ers will be the 17th team in the league. Up to 3 of the 10 player roster can be specifically assigned by the Sixers, the rest will come from the D-League draft. Anyone else not under contract with the 76ers are free agents and eligible to be signed by any team in the NBA. The 50-game schedule runs November through April. Ticket prices will range from $9 - $29 and discounts for season tickets are available. You can find out more at sevens.com

The results of a grand jury investigation in the January 14th abduction case of 5-year-old Nailla Robinson are expected to be presented at a scheduled court date on Monday. Robinson was abducted from her kindergarten classroom at Bryant Elementary in the Cobbs Creek section of Philadelphia by a woman pretending to be her guardian. She was led to a nearby home, blindfolded and sexually assaulted. She was found early the next morning in an Upper Darby playground by a Good Samaritan wearing only a large t-shirt. With the young girl's help and tips from the public, investigators pinpointed and searched a home on the 6200 block of Walton Avenue. Evidence collected there, including DNA on the t-shirt, led to the arrest of 19-year-old Christina Regusters. She is believed to be the woman that abducted Robinson, but even though she is the only person who has been arrested, she may not have acted alone. Regusters has been held of $4 million bail since being arrested in February. The grand jury results could bring indictments on new suspects or change Regusters' current charges of kidnapping, conspiracy, aggravated assault, rape, and related offenses.
