Authorities say they are investigating what they are calling the "suspicious death" of a two-month-old baby that was discovered Sunday morning in Upper Moreland, Montgomery County. According to authorities, the infant was found around 9:30 a.m. at the Wellington Apartments on Horsham Road. Officials aren't releasing many details at this time. An autopsy is expected to be conducted on Monday.

UPDATE: A 28-year-old Hatboro man is being charged with endangering the welfare of children and possibly more charges in the death of his 2-month-old daughter pending an autopsy. Edward Doyle was taken into custody and is being held on $1 million bail. On Sunday morning, after a night of heavy drinking, he told police that he picked up his crying daughter from her swing and proceeded to trip and fall on top of her while carrying her across the room. He checked her out and put her back in the swing thinking she was ok. A few hours later baby Makayla was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the hospital. According to a police affidavit, the baby had red swelling on her forehead, and bruising and cuts on the bridge of her nose. Apparently Doyle told Police that he shouldn’t have been caring for the child because he drank too much.

Penn State trustee, Anthony Lubrano, says a consultant should be asked to return "some or all" of the millions of dollars Penn State University paid for an internal investigation into the handling of sexual abuse allegations. Penn State spokesman David La Torre declined comment Sunday.

A 1-alarm house fire in the 12-hundred block of south 46th street in southwest Philadelphia's Kingsessing section claimed the life of an unidentified man late Sunday night. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The fire marshal continues his investigation and so far has not revealed a cause.
