Police are investigating the murder of a pediatrician whose body was found tied up and set on fire inside her Center City home Monday. Authorities say firefighters responded at 12:30 p.m. to a report of a fire at home in the 1700 block of Naudain Street. A man who was hired by the victim to walk her dog was the first to discover the body. The motive remains under investigation by Philadelphia police homicide detectives.

Investigators say a customer who intervened during the attempted robbery of Philadelphia store Monday was shot twice at the Koh Kong grocery store in South Philadelphia. A regular customer who was inside the store tried to stop the robbery and became engaged in a struggle with the suspect. The victim was rushed to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he is listed in critical but stable condition. After shooting the customer, the suspect ran out of the store without getting any cash. Police are currently searching for two Asian males.

Police in Delaware County arrested a school bus driver after they allege he tried to abduct a 10-year-old girl. Gregory Cornell is facing charges for his role in the incident that happened in the 200 block of 9th Street in Upland on Sunday. Chester police say when they arrested Cornell, he had 154 bags of heroin and crack cocaine in his car. Investigators also say Cornell had a sex toy in his possession. Cornell was a bus driver with the Penn-Delco School District.
