Bristol Crash Kills One, Corbett Defends Lawsuit, Tredyffrin Township Trash Tip Money Stolen

An accident in Bucks County left one person dead Thursday night. Investigators say a Jeep Cherokee struck a pedestrian on Route 13 near 4th Avenue in Bristol a little before 8 p.m. Authorities say the driver did stop at the scene and is cooperating with police.

The small group of business owners and Penn State alumni surrounding Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett at his press conference Wednesday afternoon supported his lawsuit against the NCAA. But the governor has had trouble finding more support anywhere else. Governor Corbett took to CNN to defend his antitrust suit, arguing the NCAA circumvented its own rules in handing down the sanctions. Now members of Corbett’s own party say the lawsuit smacks of politics, especially since it took six months for Corbett to fight the sanctions.

Tredyffrin Township Police allege Kristen Bazik stole close to $300 in tip money left out in front of about a dozen homes Christmas Eve. The tip money was meant to help sanitation workers and their families for Christmas. Envelopes with cash put out with the trash and addressed to “trash guys” or “sanitation department” police say were stolen by Bazik. Basik was arrested Christmas Eve with the envelopes and money in her purse.
