Nutter Tax Overhaul, Philadelphia Minister Robbed, Conestoga Teacher Arrested for Public Drunkenness

One day after briefing city council on the overhaul of Philadelphia's property tax system, Mayor Nutter said the change will not be used to increase total revenues overall. The new reassessments of all Philadelphia properties will be used as the basis for tax bills due in 2014. The changeover, though, will be revenue neutral.

Philadelphia police are looking for a man who robbed and attacked a minister Wednesday afternoon. It happened at about 3:30 p.m. near 11th and Walnut streets in Center City. Investigators say the thief used pepper spray on him, then stole a money clip containing $125.

A Conestoga High School teacher from Wayne was arrested last week and charged with being drunk on the job. Tredyffrin Township Police say 43-year-old Carol Wittschieben was unresponsive at noontime last Monday when they were called to the school in Berwyn. They say it turns out she was intoxicated and will remain on leave pending results of an investigation into the matter.
