Delco Man Mourns Death of Newtown Grandson, Montco Gun Show Crowd, Obama Speaks At Newtown Vigil

Carmen Lobis, of Delaware County, is dealing with the loss of his grandson in Newtown, CT. 6-year-old Benjamin Wheeler was one of the victim's of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Lobis drove to Newtown to mourn with his family and the entire community. He says support has come from all across the region and the country.

A gun show in Montgomery County drew a huge crowd on Sunday, despite calls for stricter gun control after a shooting rampage at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut. The crowd was diverse, even families with children. Gun enthusiasts know an event such as the Sandy Hook massacre is likely to bring calls for gun control.

President Obama spoke at a prayer vigil in Newtown, CT last night remembering the 26 children and adults killed at Sandy Hook Elementary on Friday. He said that in the coming weeks, he would use “whatever power this office holds” to engage with law enforcement, mental health professionals, parents and educators in an effort to prevent more tragedies like Newtown. He promised to lead a national effort, but left unclear was what it would be, and how much it would address the explosive issue of gun control. He closed his remarks by slowly reading the first names of each of the 26 victims.
