Parade Of Lights, Chickie and Pete's Tip Skimming Suit, Philadelphia Parking Tickets Appeal Online
  by: Rebel - Havertown, PA

The third annual Parade of Lights is tomorrow on the Delaware River. It features a showcase of commercial, community and private boats decorated with holiday lights. The Independence Seaport Museum sponsors the event. Boats parade up and down the Delaware at Penn's Landing right in front of the museum and the museum will open its balcony to visitors who will be offered whistles to signal their votes for the best decorated ship in the parade. The Parade begins at 5 p.m.

Chickie’s and Pete’s is accused of illegally skimming tip money from its waitstaff. A former bartender’s federal lawsuit claims Chickie’s and Pete’s at the airport took credit card fees out of its staff’s tips. The suit says employees were forced to pay the bar 2 percent of their total credit-card receipts, in cash, after closing sometimes resulting in a 10 percent loss of the employee’s wages during the shift.

The City of Philadelphia has launched a new website which allows individuals to appeal parking tickets online that will include the ability to upload documents in support of an appeal, as well as rules of the appeals process. The new website also puts into operation changes to the Traffic Code enacted earlier this year. The website can be accessed at It was launched in cooperation with the Philadelphia Parking Authority.
