Judge Beloff Suicide; Paulsboro NJ Residents Uneasy; Reid Names Foles Eagles Starting QB

Philadelphia's legal and political community is mourning the death of Common Pleas judge Adam Beloff, whose body was found at his Ventnor, NJ home on Saturday after an apparent suicide. Ventnor police on Saturday responded to a call from the judge's home on Wellington Avenue and found him dead at the scene. Beloff, was serving his first term as a Common Pleas judge, presiding over cases in the criminal division.

Paulsboro, NJ residents remained on edge today as officials continued to formulate a plan to clean up the train derailment that led to a vinyl chloride release last Friday. Schools remain closed until further notice. Many residents are worried about their safety and are not sure they can trust what they’re hearing from public officials. Officials say the town is safe outside of the evacuated area near the crash.

Andy Reid made it official today at his weekly press conference, Nick Foles will start at quarterback for the Eagles for the remainder of the season. Because Michael Vick has yet to pass the ImPACT portion of his concussion recovery, no official declaration regarding the starting quarterback had to be made. Reid said that although Vick was improving in his recovery from a concussion, Foles will start regardless of Vick’s health. Foles was 22-34 for 251 yards and one touchdown Sunday night against the Cowboys. It was his third start of the season, and most impressive performance.

Weather
