Paulsboro Evacuation Extended, North Phila. Murder Suspect Tips Of Another Body, Eagles Lose Again

More than 100 Paulsboro residents will be kept out of their homes for several more days as crews work to clear a hazardous gas that spewed from a ruptured freight train car. The tanker that ruptured Friday contained 25,000 gallons of vinyl chloride, some of which spewed into the air. The remaining gas in the tanker had turned into a solid and settled at the bottom of the tanker. The removal of the vinyl chloride and the seven wrecked rail cars is expected to be a delicate operation. A huge crane was brought in from New York Harbor to pick up the tanker cars.

Police discovered the body of a man inside a home in North Philadelphia on Sunday after receiving a tip from a suspect already in custody for a homicide that occurred inside the same residence a day earlier. Authorities say they were acting on information provided to them by a suspect who had been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 26-year-old man inside the basement of the same home on Saturday. It was not immediately clear whether that suspect was connected to the second death.

The Philadelphia Eagles were reminded that the Dallas Cowboys have the postseason to play for. Sunday night, the Eagles losing streak continued as the Cowboys won, 38 - 33. This was the eighth-straight loss for Philadelphia, which no Eagles team has done since 1968, when they opened the season by losing a single-season record 11-straight games.
