NJ Early Voter Bill, Darby Firefighter Found Dead, Former D.A. Donohue Convicted

A New Jersey Senator has introduced early voting legislation. The bill lets voters cast in-person ballots at polling stations beginning 15 days before an election expanding voter access and ensures that if emergencies such as Hurricane Sandy arise, residents aren't faced with being unable to vote.

Police in Darby, Delaware County are investigating after a firefighter was found dead on the grounds of the fire station. It happened over the weekend on the 500 block of Chestnut Street. The fire company confirms the death was accidental but has no other comment at this time.

A former assistant district attorney has been convicted of a misdemeanor in a hit-and-run crash that injured a suburban Philadelphia teenager a year ago. Jurors in Delaware County convicted 32-year-old Michael Donohue on Monday of leaving the scene of an accident, a misdemeanor because jurors said serious bodily injury hadn’t resulted. Prosecutor Joseph McGettigan said Donohue had been out drinking with co-workers on that night. Donohue’s defense attorney said that his client wasn’t drunk.
